This LaSalle was for sale, but it wouldn't start. There was a fellow interested, so Larry started tinkering and boom, bamm ..... he got it started -- and the sale was made! (August 2002)
And Elvis was on hand too, riding around in a 1959 Caddy! (August 2002)
We topped off this tour with a visit to Fair Lane, the home of Henry and Clara Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. (August 2002)
And then we toured the highly interesting mansion built by Lawrence P. Fisher. Mr. Fisher (1888 - 1961) built this waterfront estate at Grayhaven in 1927. Lawrence was one of seven brothers who developed and expanded the Fisher Body Corporation until it was sold to General Motors in 1926. He was a vice-president and executive director at GM and served as president of Cadillac Motors from 1926 - 1941.
One of the tours we took was of historic homes in the Detroit area. Our first stop was the "honeymoon cottage" of Edsel and Eleanor Ford, which can be found in Indian Village. (August 2002)
We also had a wonderful dinner and Motown show at the Detroit Yacht Club! (August 2002)
While in Detroit, we visited the lovely town of Frankenmuth, which is known as Michigan's Little Bavaria. (August 2002)
