I'm half way through my sixth year of taking daily photos. I'm still taking the photos, but am finding it difficult to have the time each day to post them. So, while I may lag behind, I usually try and catch up at some point.

irishmurr > Maimeo's Magic Bag .....

Whenever we travel with Maeve, the magic bag comes out. We're heading to Dublin, Ohio over the weekend to attend an Irish festival -- which is one of the largest in the country -- and I had to make sure to keep Maeve occupied during the drive ..... even though it's only two hours. Two hours can seem like forever when you're three. :-)
(August 2, 2012)

“Children see magic because they look for it.”
   ~~ Christopher Moore
irishmurr > My parents sent us a gift card so we could go out and celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary which is fast approaching -- on August 4th -- and we didn't waste any time using it. :-)
(August 1, 2012)

"Marrying for love may be a bit risky, but it is so honest that God can't help but smile on it."
   ~~ Josh Billings

..... as you can see, I'm still playing catch-up with my daily photos ......
irishmurr > Just another flower shot ..... but at least I picked up the camera for the sole purpose of taking a daily photo. :-)
(July 31, 2012)

"The flower that follows the sun does so even in cloudy days."
   ~~ Robert Leighton
irishmurr > I'm still working on photos from a couple of weekends ago, and came across this one of Meredith. Our Merdie has the most amazing eyes! (July 30, 2012)

“Your eyes will always be closer to your soul than to any other part of your body except the heart.”
   ~~ Sorin Cerin
irishmurr > One of the treats from our smugmugger get-together -- other than seeing our friends -- were the precious baby squirrels that our very own Mom4Squirrels brought over for us to see! (July 29, 2012)

“You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals.”
   ~~ Paul McCartney
irishmurr > Another smugmugger get together! Betsy and Jim were traveling from Virginia to Michigan -- and made a stop in the area. Fun time, of course! In addition to Betsy and Jim, Silly Jilly and her handsome hubby came, as well as Kim and friends. Ann was also on hand for a while, but had to leave before the group shot was taken. Thanks for coming, everyone -- it was definitely an enjoyable evening! (July 28, 2012)

"Most of us don't need a psychiatric therapist as much as a friend to be silly with."
   ~~ Robert Brault

irishmurr > I was watering my flowers, spotted this spider web ..... and grabbed my camera. It was back by our fence, between two pots -- which I didn't want to disturb in order to get the shot. Oh well, I thought it was pretty cool anyway. (July 27, 2012)

“The spider's touch, how exquisitely fine! Feels at each thread, and lives along the line.”
   ~~ Alexander Pope
irishmurr > Another heat advisory today, so I'm doing my best to keep hydrated. :-)
(July 26, 2012)

“If you saw a heat wave, would you wave back?”
   ~~ Stephen Wright
irishmurr > My BFF's grandson had a real treat today -- he was asked to throw out the first ball at the Lake County Captains ballgame. And, of course, the gang was all out in full force to root him on. As you can see from the smile on his face, he had no problem getting it over home plate! (July 25, 2012)

"You gotta be a man to play baseball for a living, but you gotta have a lot of little boy in you, too."
   ~~ Roy Campanella
irishmurr > How can something so small make a splash that's so big? :-)
(July 24, 2012)

"I loved the Little Lulu stories, where she would fantasize that her bedroom rug would turn into a pool of water, and she could dive down into the center of the world."
   ~~ Lynn Johnston
irishmurr > It was a crazy busy weekend: car cruise on Friday night, picking Maeve up Saturday morning, birthday party for our friend Al on Saturday afternoon and evening, open house at the high school Sunday morning .... topped off with a visit to the ball park Sunday afternoon. Whew! I had to go to work today, just to relax! :-)
(July 23, 2012)

"For fast-acting relief, try slowing down."
   ~~ Lily Tomlin
irishmurr > The end of an era .....

The building that Larry attended during high school is being torn down, so we made one last visit to his alma mater before the wrecking ball descended. This was the library which -- when he went to school there -- was the boys gym. Which is not to be confused with the girls gym. Things certainly have changed since 1969.
(July 22, 2012)

“You can drag my body to school but my spirit refuses to go.”
   ~~ Bill Watterson

You would have had to hear all the stories I heard about these hallowed halls, from Larry and his schoolmates during the open house, in order to realize that this quote is perfect for this photo. :-)
irishmurr > Bernie has the right idea .....

Everyone got together to help our dear friend Al celebrate his 70th birthday, and grand-dog Bernie was showing us all the best way to keep cool. (July 21, 2012)

"The most affectionate creature in the world is a wet dog."
   ~~ Ambrose Bierce
irishmurr > Another car cruise -- but at least this one wasn't in the sweltering heat. We had some clouds roll in, to provide us with shade ..... and some interesting reflections. :-)
(July 20, 2012)

The sky, at sunset, looked like a carnivorous flower.”
   ~~ Roberto Bolaño
irishmurr > It's summertime ... which means it's salad time. (June 19, 2012)

"Salad freshens without enfeebling and fortifies without irritating."
   ~~ Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
